Business coaching helps to develop self discipline

A critical skill for business success
Do you do what needs to be done each day for the successful development of your business? Or do you find excuses, procrastinate and make promises to yourself that you rarely keep and these important tasks aren’t followed through with?
This is where self discipline is required and for most people it is a skill that needs developing. Even if you’re quite self disciplined in some areas of your business there may be other areas that are desperately crying out for your discipline. For example, do you have the self-discipline to follow-through with marketing and sales calls? Are you disciplined about the organization of delivering your products or services? Do you spend time keeping yourself busy but not really doing the work that needs doing?
Self discipline is an essential skill and without lots of it you could find your business slipping behind, sales not coming in or customers being dissatisfied.
The first question to ask yourself is “Where am I not self-disciplined?” and then “What is this costing me both in my business and personal life?” I made the assumption that there is at least one thing you’re not self disciplined about because for most of us normal human beings there is at least one thing and usually many more.
Once you know where you need to improve your self-discipline the next step is to start doing it. The best way of looking at it is like a muscle that you need to exercise. So, you wouldn’t expect to run a marathon overnight, you would build up your training and challenging yourself to do that bit more. Well, you can take the same approach with improving your self-discipline. Instead of expecting yourself to be completely disciplined in one go, just pick one thing to start with and decide what would be a bit of a stretch for you and commit to doing that. Once you’re doing that comfortably, push yourself a little more. Keep working your self-discipline muscle and in time it will become natural.
